The Project: As part of the internship, students collaborated on a real-world client project—revamping the website for The Canadian Learning Trust (https://canlearntrust.org/). Their mission was to modernize the site, improve user experience, and make it easier for visitors to access important resources.

 The Experience:

• Worked in structured, agile teams with real deadlines and deliverables

• Attended expert-led workshops on IT, business, and career development

• Received 1:1 mentorship and role-specific training

• Gained hands-on exposure to professional tools, workflows, and client collaboration

• Built a portfolio-ready project that directly benefits a registered Canadian charity

 Workshop Topics Included: Agile & Scrum for Beginners, Professional Communication, UX Design & Accessibility, Cybersecurity, Resume & LinkedIn Building, and more—ensuring students walked away with both technical and soft skills.

 The Impact: Students didn’t just “learn tech”—they lived the IT experience. They collaborated, problem-solved, and discovered where they might belong in the tech ecosystem. For many, it was their first glimpse into careers that feel just like university co-ops or junior industry roles.
