What is 10X Hub, and what services do you offer to community member?
10X Hub is a not-for-profit organization that provides experiential learning workshops and real-life project experiences to high school students through helping community members with their technical challenges, such as website development, automation, and AI integration. The main goal is for students to learn and practice using real life projects. The students will not replace any paid workers.
Who is eligible to participate in this program?
We extend our invitation to non-profit organizations, local community clubs/groups, schools, and other members in the community. However, if your intention is solely to replace outsourced technical work, this program may not be suitable for your needs. Our primary goal is to educate students, not to offer inexpensive labor. We prioritize projects that contribute positively to society, support local communities, minority groups, seniors and assist those who are facing technological challenges that might not have the funding to hire professionals yet. What is the intake process for community member?
After submitting a request via our website, our staff will review your organization’s information and/or speak with you to evaluate if your organization is suitable for our workshop. If it’s suitable, you will be sent a contract for review and signing. Once signed, depending on the workshop technology, you will receive a questionnaire to supply the information our students need for the workshop. The students will based on the information supplied in the questionnaire to perform the tasks. There will be no contact with the students during the workshop. Therefore, it’s crucial that you answer the questionnaire thoughtfully and with good and meaningful information. Students will not know enough about your organization to dream up information. Though we have been getting really good results by the students, results could vary.
What do I need to do as a community member?
During our student workshop, the students will learn and work on a demo for your website. There might be a few students working on a different variations. You will select from a few pre-done websites created by high school students. You will then provide any replacement text and images, which the students will incorporate into the selected website. 10X Hub will set up a real server for you to host the website.
How do I manage the website created by students after the session?
The students will teach you some of the basic skills on updating your website in the skill transfer session. The students will also create small snippet videos to show you the specific tasks that were shown in the skill transfer session so that you can review them continuously.
Can I contact the students after the session if I have a problem?
No. The community member doesn’t have direct contact with any students. All communications are routed through a 10X Hub coordinator. If you need support after the session, please email support@10xhub.org. We have paid support engagement where you can hire students to help you with any future problems.
Do I need to have technical knowledge or experience to participate?
No, technical knowledge or experience is not required from you. Our students will provide a one-hour skill transfer session to teach you basic website management tasks. Additionally, you can access free resources for further assistance. If you later decide to hire a professional team to enhance your website, you can do so easily. 10X Hub intentionally selects widely-used technologies, making it simple to hire professional talent for additional support. Optionally, you can also hire 10X Hub students to help you with future support.
How long is the engagement?
Engagements are different depending on the workshops. Generally, they range from 1 week to 6 weeks or more depending on the specific technologies.
What cost do I have as a community member?
Currently, there is no cost for community member to participate. However, you will be responsible for the cost of your domain, hosting cost or any related website costs. We always appreciate donations.
What is the expected outcome for community member?
You can expect to receive a fully functional website comprising no more than three pages, crafted by high school students to suit their individual requirements and preferences. It’s important to bear in mind that these projects are practice project for students to learn and gain experiences, they will not be at the professional quality as hired people. The students are not to be be seen to replace another hire person. The opportunity is for students to practice and learn with real life projects. Nonetheless, we believe the students have performed admirably. You can view examples of websites created by our students here. Typically, you can be expected to have a few website designs created by different students for your selection as your final website. After you have made your website design selection, 10X Hub will arrange a student to help with you for 1 hour on zoom. The student will make minor adjustments on the website on the meeting. These changes will be done live in a zoom meeting such that you can also see how it’s done. The student will also teach you how to update the website yourselves. You will learn how to login to the website as an admin, update an image, update text, publish the website, etc. Use this hour wisely and attentively so that you can learn to be self sufficient. Afterwards, the 10X Hub team will reach out with instructions for you to set up your own hosting service. You have to follow the instructions on paying and initiating the hosting service. Afterwards, the 10X Hub team will help you migrate the website from the learning server to your real server. Your website will be all set up and running after this and the engagement from the 10X Hub team will be considered complete.
Does 10X Hub only support website technology?
If you encounter any other technology-related hurdles, feel free to reach out to us or sign up to inform us of your needs. We’ll assess whether the challenge aligns with opportunities for valuable skill development among our students.
What if I want to change a lot of things on the website?
The students are limited to only 1 hour of additional changes. If you wish to change a lot of things, you can feel free to hire an external professional team or hire the 10X Hub team for further engagement.
How does 10X Hub select the technologies?
10X Hub operates independently of any technology companies and does not prioritize or endorse specific technologies. The selection process relies on specific criteria, including the following:

- Versatile and capable of addressing unique requirements
- Cost-effective or accessible at a low price point
- Potential for professional teams to assume control
- Scalability to accommodate future expansion
- Strong community backing
- User-friendly for both students and community members
From time to time, technology companies may offer affiliation links, which 10X Hub might utilize. However, those who participating in the program are under no obligation to use these links for any purpose. Nonetheless, it could be beneficial to consider utilizing them, as 10X Hub operates as a non-profit organization and relies on every opportunity to save costs.
What are the technologies that 10X Hub are using at the moment?

Do I need to use a specific hosting server?
Yes, our teams are trained on the WordPress server hosted on inmotionhosting.com.
What is the reason for using WordPress and Inmotionhosting?
These are the platforms that our students and teams are trained on. To streamline the process, it’s advantageous to utilize a consistent set of technologies that align with the students’ expertise.
